  • .txt
    • .txt file is opened by TeXmacs! --> fixed *.tm is binded TeXmacs.
  • boot: knoppix lang=ja
    • error in setup the desktop of KDE (report later.) --> ?
  • sqrt(x)
    • tc (tc-linux-static) is not in the sqrt(x) menu. --> I have made it.
  • R
    • apt-get install ess (R frontend for emacs) --> OK
    • apt-get install r-cran-rcmdr (R GUI. R -> library(Rcmdr)) --> OK
  • axiom-test, sage with polymake
    • --> axiom-fix-1.tar.gz, sage-fix-1.tar.gz --> OK
  • cocoa
    • Source "./test.txt" does not work. -> fixed
  • xcocoa
  QT_IM_MODULE=  xcocoa
  • kash
    • Read("./test.txt") does not work.
  • nzmath
    • import test does not work with test.py in the current directory.
  • texmacs (1.0.6.4)
    • apt-get install libfreetype6-dev
    • apt-get install guile-1.6-dev
    • Install texmacs-1.0.6.4-bin.tar.gz from http://fe.math.kobe-u.ac.jp/nobuki/DVD1. /usr/local/bin/texmacs.sh should be used to start the texmacs.

  • OpenOffice.rog
    • openoffice.org-help-en-us --> OK
  • Keyboard
    • Spanish should be in the active list. -> "es"
    • Start with lang=ja, us-keyboard. If I switch to the us-keyboard, \ cannot be input, because the keyboard model is kept to be Japanese 106.
    • --> Please use right-click and select config menu.
  • TeXmacs
    • .tm file is opened with KWrite. --> OK, *.tm, *.pic(surf) are supported.
    • Cut and paste does not work for Japanese. Xutf8TextListToTextProperty(),... should be used in the TeXmacs source code.
    • /usr/share/TeXmacs/doc contains only folders and there is no *.tm documents. --> OK
  • Win side
    • The folder name "Math" should be changed to "Math-ja". SinceiIt is a DVD, I think we may have the same copy of Math-ja in the cloop file, too (convinient for knx2hd).-> OK!
  • shells
    • I want csh or tcsh installed! -> I have installed tcsh.
  • octave
    • the pdf manual is gziped. -> I'ts debian official package. I would not like to fix it.-> it is fixed by downloading a package from fe.
  • Macaulay2
    • The html document in the win side should be copied to knoppix file system (better than documents in /usr/share/doc). --> it will be installed by downloading a package from fe.
  • knoppix lang=ja
    • The time seems to be the summer time, but JST does not have the summer time. --> How do we check it?
  • menu
    • hol, hol.card, hol.multivariate, hol.sosa should show up in the sqrt{x} menu. --> OK

    • I cannot start it. -> If you select boot option "knoppix lang=ja", it's ok.
    • How do I use it from texmacs? Installing other im might be fine. -> There are many im in DVD, but we have not finished configurations. -> lang=ja, it works in TeXmacs.
    • How do I use it from emacs? -> lang=ja, starting egg-anthy with Ctrl+\.
  • Java
    • JDK="/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun"
    • java installer hangs on a machine with 256M memory --> It cannot be helped!
    • I changed java installer scripts.
  • GANG
    • cmc lab does not start. --> ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3.gang /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 "DON'T FORGET IT!" ---> It does not start on RC1.1, too.
    • Another error: libtiff.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory -> sorry, fixed.
    • Are there any person, who can compile GANG with standard debian library?
  • MPFR
    • /usr/local/icm2006/projects/mpfr/doc/mpfr-ja-2.2.0.pdf, I cannot read this Japense document. --> We need embed free fonts in PDF.
  • They are not installed.
    • surfex (->host is down), tc (-> asked to the author -> done, /usr/local/bin/tc-linux-static),
    • tamterm, sarag -> DVD2
  • TeXmacs FONT
    • fireflysung may be installed to support Taiwanese.
    • Is fireflysung free? --> It seems free.
  • KASH/KANT
    • we want a network installer. OK, I have made it, but it's huge tar.bz2! -hamada
  • GiANT, http://giantsystem.sourceforge.net
    • GiANT depends on KASH/KANT and Java. If KASH/KANT is installed, it should be installed.
    • If kash/kant and java are installed from the network, it occupies a lot of memory space and it is impossible to run the GiANT. --> DVD2.
  • CoCoA4
    • Are binaries free?
    • Yes, the author has told me that it is "free", but sources are not open. Is it OK for the DVD1?
    • No, but I will make a network-installer of CoCoA4.
    • We have network-installer in RC2.
  • knx2hd
    • It crashes. --> LC_ALL=C knx2hd, then it works.
    • After installing to hd, the background jpg cannot be accessed (.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc).
  • jtem
    • No sample code for this java class library. -> asked to the author.
  • knoppix-math-jp/surf_sample/surfaces
    • error: KolourPaint, could not open *pic. Unsupported format.
  • /usr/local/icms2006/links-icms2006.pdf
  • We have to fix /etc/skel/setxim, because it's output /etc/emacs/site-start.d/99inputmethod.el.-> fixed.
  • chmod 644 /usr/local/sage-1.3.3.7/ipython/history -> I have removed it.
  • copy TeXmacs ttf fonts to home directory.
  • VMware
    • I cannot install VMware tools because of the existence of /usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg (too new). Do you need any Old debian packages?

    • Can emacs 21 read/write UTF-8?, I installed mule-ucs, is it OK?
